The Jubilee Food Market opened fall 2016 as a non-profit grocery store created by Mission Waco to serve North Waco lower-income neighbors in a food desert. Urban R.E.A.P (“renewable energy & agriculture project”) is an aquaponics greenhouse, a solar demonstration site & training components for sustainability.

The Jubilee Food Market was funded in part through a $51,000 donation from the sale of the contents of the historic Elite Cafe (now Magnolia Table). The Gaineses, of Magnolia Market at the Silos and “Fixer Upper” fame, bought the historic Elite Cafe on Waco's traffic circle when it closed for business. They auctioned the contents, which included Elvis memorabilia, furniture, appliances, old photos, signs and even the baby-blue Cadillac that was once parked out front.
